April Nature Programs at Maydale

The first nature program at Maydale in April is this Saturday, April 20. Here is the listing from the Recreation and Parks Spring Guide for the month of April. Registering helps naturalists prepare, and for paid programs, staff are not able to take payments on site.

4/20 Geocache Eggstravaganza!
It's spring and eggs are everywhere! We'll use GPS units to search for treasure filled eggs hidden in Maydale's different habitats for a truly fun way to learn about spring and be rewarded with a prize every time. Bring your own basket to collect your findings. We'll supply the GPS units!

4/20 Insect Indicators!
Join us as we examine the ponds at Maydale to see what insects we can find, examine the water quality where they live and discover their connection to the environment. Please wear protective boots or shoes; this is an outdoor activity (rain or shine).

4/27 Evening Amphibian Walk
Experience Maydale at dusk as we walk around the pond and wetlands listening for and identifying the different frog calls we hear.

4/28 Fantastic Frogs
Explore the world of frogs at Maydale! Learn how they develop, where they live, what they eat, and how they are important to our ecosystem. And if we're lucky, we'll even get to see a few! Rain cancels the program.
